The house beside you beamed with light from within, decorated with holiday cheer, and painted a mix of brown and mint green. You made a face in confusion, before turning your head. “I don’t think it’d be a good idea for you to head home tonight, after what you’ve gone through. “Shh, it’s alright now, you’re safe here,” She said, warming you as she held you in her arms. “I heard, I heard this- this sound and it was right behind me and I got so scared-” “I- I think someone was following me,” You explained as Cocoa Cookie pulled you to your feet. It was so, so relieving to see a familiar face. “Oh dear, are you alright? You seemed so frightened, I had to check to see if something was wrong.” Cocoa’s voice was soft, concerned, and, most importantly, comforting. It took everything within you to slowly turn your head to see. Right on top of you.Ī hand touched your shoulder, and your mouth dropped open in a silent scream, eyes wide and bugged out. Still, you trembled and panted as you kneeled in the snow. It’s just your luck, isn’t it? You lost your footing, slipping on something left underneath the snow and had slid to your hands and knees, shaking and panting. Somehow, it was all around you, blasting in your ears, making your mind go haywire - it was right behind you. You broke into a full sprint, and the sounds went faster still. But it didn’t.Īs you picked up your pace, the melody did the same, the sound of a bow scraping against strings faster and faster, matching your footsteps. You kept your head down, hoping it would go away. The sweet, melodious tune you had heard in the evening had become a slow drag of strings, sounding something akin to the creaking of a door. The music was different from before, though. The night sky was a pitch black, the moon seemingly following you as you made your way home. When you parted from your friends, it was well and truly dark. You asked your friends if they’ve heard the same, but they laugh your worries off. It was getting dark - the pretty reds and oranges of sunset becoming purples and blues of night, the moon beginning to rise into the sky. It seemed to follow you all throughout the kingdom, no matter where you went. You swore you could have heard a melody on the air, the harsh winter winds carrying music through the air. YESSS I LOVE THIS SM >:333c it’s such a great idea for a creepy/scary scenario!
